GGS Ecology Club
Led the largest school club focused on addressing important environmental issues, successfully organizing more than two engaging events each semester. These events included a variety of activities such as awareness campaigns, educational videos, interactive quizzes, enlightening lectures, and community clean-up efforts. Additionally, I initiated the "Zero Disposable Paper Cup" Campaign, which played a significant role in reducing the usage of disposable paper cups within our school community.
Water Day
03.22.2024 GGS
In celebration of 'World Water Day,' established by the UN to raise awareness about the importance of water and to promote global interest and cooperation in solving water-related issues, GGS carried out the ‘World Water Day’ campaign.
Through the Tumbler Campaign, all paper cups on campus were collected for a day, and students used personal tumblers. At the end of the day, the leftover water in the tumblers was gathered. A total of 9.2 liters of leftover water was collected and used to water the flower beds.
Additionally, students explored the causes of the current global water shortage and methods for conserving water, reflecting on ways we can use water more carefully in our daily lives.
Earth Day
04.22.2024 GGS
I organized a poster competition that was specifically focused on raising awareness about various important environmental issues. This event aimed to engage participants creatively while promoting discussions about sustainability and conservation.
An award ceremony was held for the students who participated in the poster creation as part of a project we can implement to protect the global environment. Along with certificates, prizes such as keyrings made by melting recycled bottle caps, kitesurf upcycled wallets, and wallets upcycled from banners were awarded to the winners.
